Sewing instructions

General steps to sew this garment. Seam allowance is 1 cm (3/8") unless stated otherwise.

Supplies

  • Woven fabric (cotton, linen, poplin…)
  • Invisible zipper
  • Fusible interfacing
  • Matching thread and the right needle
  1. Prewash and press your fabric before cutting so it will not shrink after sewing.
  2. Print the pattern at 100%, check the test square and cut the pieces following the cutting list. Transfer notches, darts and button marks.
  3. Sew the darts from the edge to the point, tie off without backstitching and press them toward the center.
  4. Insert the invisible zipper in the back or side seam and close the rest of the seam.
  5. Sew the side seams right sides together and press open or finish the allowances.
  6. Interface the waist facings, attach them to the skirt, turn and understitch so they stay inside.
  7. If you chose a back vent, fold it and stitch it diagonally at the top.
  8. Hem: double-fold to the inside, press and topstitch or blind stitch.
