Sewing instructions
General steps to sew this garment. Seam allowance is 1 cm (3/8") unless stated otherwise.
Supplies
- Cotton spandex jersey
- Lingerie elastic
- Matching thread and the right needle
- Print the pattern at 100%, check the test square and cut the pieces following the cutting list. Transfer notches, darts and button marks.
- Cut with the greatest stretch running horizontally (around the body). Use pattern weights instead of pins so the knit does not distort.
- Attach the crotch gusset with a cotton lining (burrito method) so no seams are exposed.
- Sew the side seams right sides together and press open or finish the allowances.
- Sew lingerie elastic to the waist and leg openings, decorative edge out, then flip and stitch with a three-step zigzag.
