Sewing instructions

General steps to sew this garment. Seam allowance is 1 cm (3/8") unless stated otherwise.

Supplies

  • Cotton spandex jersey
  • Lingerie elastic
  • Matching thread and the right needle
  1. Print the pattern at 100%, check the test square and cut the pieces following the cutting list. Transfer notches, darts and button marks.
  2. Cut with the greatest stretch running horizontally (around the body). Use pattern weights instead of pins so the knit does not distort.
  3. Attach the crotch gusset with a cotton lining (burrito method) so no seams are exposed.
  4. Sew the side seams right sides together and press open or finish the allowances.
  5. Sew lingerie elastic to the waist and leg openings, decorative edge out, then flip and stitch with a three-step zigzag.
