Sewing instructions

General steps to sew this garment. Seam allowance is 1 cm (3/8") unless stated otherwise.

Supplies

  • Woven fabric (cotton, linen, poplin…)
  • Matching thread and the right needle
  1. Prewash and press your fabric before cutting so it will not shrink after sewing.
  2. Print the pattern at 100%, check the test square and cut the pieces following the cutting list. Transfer notches, darts and button marks.
  3. Sew two rows of long stitches and gather to fit the piece it joins.
  4. Finish the side openings with a narrow hem.
  5. Interface the waistband, sew it to the waist, fold it to the inside and finish by hand or by stitching in the ditch.
  6. Make the ties (turned tubes or folded strips), sew them in place and test the fit.
  7. Hem: double-fold to the inside, press and topstitch or blind stitch.
